Osteria.ve needs your help

Covid has already affected many people and businesses and it still looks like not the end of the whole sad covid story...

Thomas is my dear Italian friend who who had successful little restaurant in Malta (Osteria.Ve).

Sometime ago him and his Family decided to move to Spain and spread Italian cuisine here, in Andalusia. In February this year he found a nice venue and everything looked like a beginning of a great story - he put the restaurant in Malta for sale, planned the end of the rental contract there and packed all his belongings to the boxes, ready to move and start a new life here.

And then Covid happened.

Thomas and his Family were stuck in Malta for 6 months, even though in the dreams they were supposed to be already here in Spain.
He finally managed to move in August - with his Wife and Two Lovely Kids (3 and 1 years old).

After some administration hurdles along the way, Thomas started working on his little place and wanted to make sure that before opening, everything will be up and running to give people a chance to start falling in love with Osteria.Ve as many many have in Malta. He managed to open only middle of November.

And then - another wave of restrictions happened.

Osteria.ve is struggling to get recognised for its amazing food, atmosphere, Aperol Spritz and wines due to current movement restrictions in Spain. Due to lack of tourists and no people from other municipalities, they can count only on Estepona locals which is not enough in these hard times.

It's hard for me to see that struggle as I remember very well how amazing place Osteria.ve was in Malta. Always full, filled with friends and laughter, Italian food to die for and extremely homey atmosphere. I am certain that with time it can easily become like that here in Estepona, but just this beginning is not easy.

I want to help Thomas and his Family in this hard kick off time, until the things settle down a bit.  I aim at raising some money that they could use for keeping Osteria.ve in shape until - hopefully - better times come after winter season.

The most important is to give people a chance to try this place - once they do, I am sure they will be happily returning. However, how long Osteria.ve can be open in current circumstances, is not certain that's why it is an urgent call for help.

It means a world for me to have Osteria.ve here in Spain - a little touch of home abroad.  Any donation would be a great help for Thomas and his Family and would help them to look at the future in bright colors.

Yari
